PROGRAMS

Adult Enrichment

Adult and Community Education has been offering Adult Enrichment classes through the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida since 1985. Adult Enrichment classes are provided on a fee support basis to members of the greater Sarasota community. Classes are offered in a variety of areas, including the SCTI campus, Gocio Elementary, Phoenix Academy, Carla's Clay, and the YMCA Euclid.

Senior Learners

Senior classes are offered to groups of 10 or more adults, 55 years of age or better, in independent and assisted living facilities, nursing homes, adult community centers, churches, and other sites throughout the community. The classes offered vary according to the interest of the group served, but range in context from crafts to current events, including art appreciation, literature, technology skills, and many more. Some classes qualify for grant support, while others are fee supported.

Adult Enrichment classes are open to adults, age 18 and older, unless otherwise noted, effective Fall 2006.

The mission of the Adult & Community Education Center is to provide dynamic and
responsive life-long learning opportunities to meet the needs of the community.
