Portrait Painting/Drawing w/Model (5 sessions)
This class sfocuses on the basic, fundamental skills needed for painting the portrait. Learn how to start with a strong SIMPLIFIED drawing, looking for the underlying form and simplified values. Then, translate that to color; again, using SIMPLIFIED approach, giving the portrait the underlying structure it needs. This class offers instruction in the much requested area of mixing believable, workable skin tones. Because most portrait painters rely heavily upon value (not color) to set up the composition and likeness, and the use of earth colors is often seen as easiest and quickest, the excitement and expression of color can be lost. Bring all of your colors. MODLE FEE OF APPROXIMATELY $26 IS NONREFUNDABLE.

Thursdays: October 7 - November 4, 1:30p-4:30p
Location: SCTI, Portable H-3
